Wintering Waterfowl
Living along the Chemung River as we do, my husband and I occasionally see waterfowl floating by in the fast current of the river past our house. Although I can identify them knowing they are a goose or a duck, I must admit I don't know much more about them. Except I am envious of their ability to float and feed in water and fly off if not content with their current location. I am quite fascinated with them. So when I read the December 2015 issue of the New York State Conservationist Magazine and found the article on Wintering Waterfoul by writer Jeremy Taylor, I wanted to share it with you! The photographs are exquisite as they usually are in this wonderful magazine, they are part of a photo essay and should be shared. These are excellent shots that most of us only dream of getting with our cameras.
I hope you enjoy the article as much as I have.

By the way, did you know that a duck's call (quack) never echoes? Isn't that curious?
