Chemung River Bridge - 2015 Replacement Project Chemung, New York
Latest Photos are at the bottom of the page!
February 2016 - The New Bridge was opened to the public December 3, 2015. Two months later the old bridge has been removed and soon will only be history.

This information can be rather technical, but I located a NYSDOT Design Build Projects Web Page, with loads of information for those of you interested in reading about it! The Downloads also include many photos. The link to that site is: https://www.dot.ny.gov/main/business-center/designbuildproject7
To me, one of the most interesting articles they have listed is a survey done last July 2014 on the Mussels found in the river, complete with photos. You can view this at:

The current Chemung River Bridge was built in the year 1967. Within 5 years it was ravaged by the 1972 flood, with water and debris lapping at it's under-decking. Sadly it has now deteriorated to the point of no return. Photo credit - Mary Ellen P. Kunst

Directly below are amateur videos I have taken of the work site, as we follow their progress. I mention they are amateur, because when it comes to my video taking, you get what you get! They are added by date, starting with the earliest. Below the videos are photos I've taken and hope to continue with, also listed by date, earliest to the most recent. In between are a view highlight images.
