The first West End School, known as "The Old Red Brick", erected in 1845 on a lot donated by Isaac Shephard. It was a one room school until 1888 when a second room was added and two teachers employed until the building burned in 1901.

This building was remodeled from the above and was used at the turn of the century as Waverly's High School
